End of an Era for Granma Had One Shop in Chesapeake, VA

Exciting and bittersweet all at once, it is an end of an era with our Chesapeake location closed.  Don’t fret, you can still catch us online or in Virginia Beach, but as of February 28, 2017, Granma Had One is no longer located at the Military Hwy location in Chesapeake, VA.

The journey has been long and fulfilling, but the time has come to move on to a better way.  We are currently looking for a new retail shop where our customers can come to visit us while picking up some cool vintage and antique pieces.

During this time, we will be continually updating our three booths at Barrett Street (Dealer #813), participating in local markets, and finalizing our online store and online auction.  We are super excited about these new additions that will help our customers stay connected with us and keep their ‘love of antiques’ monster fed.

Following us on Facebook or signing up for our monthly newsletter are great ways to stay in the know.  When we finalize the details of our new shop, we will publish that information on our site and social media venues.

End of an Era, our Chesapeake location closed.

While change can be sad, we can’t help but look to the future with bigger dreams than ever.  We love what we do and we love our customers.  This change is a positive one.  We hope that you all continue to stay in touch and visit us at our next shop.

Opening this shop in January of 2004, Ed Davis’ simply wanted to find antiques and provide them to the Hampton Roads area.  He operated this shop for 10 years before wanting to slow down his involvement.  When he decided to take a step back, contemplating closing the shop, his son, Jay, and daughter-in-law, Joy, showed interest in continuing the tradition and rejuvenated the shop with their own touch.  Ed naturally moved into the role of the shop’s main picker.

Since that transition, we have grown throughout the Hampton Roads area. Creating an even bigger following through Facebook and our very loyal customers, we are dedicated to continuing our role of searching the local areas for the best antique and vintage items and sharing them with all of you.

Please continue to check back for updates on our site or Facebook pages, or signup for our monthly newsletter.
